The purposes of our two parties isn’t to serve those who they represent, but simply to stay in power, whatever the cost. Then over the long term to increase their power at the expense of anyone and everyone else.

You might think it’s about the money, but anyone with the time to pursue public office already has the money. Once you have that kind of money, money is simply a tool to get more power.

Eventually, it’s just power for power’s sale.

At some point, someone will invent a way to ensure that the only people who are given political power are those who don’t want it. Unfortunately, when that day comes, that person will be buried, perhaps literally, by the powers that be.

It’s a sad state of affairs.
